Kitesurfing Boracay

Kitesurfing Boracay

Kitesurfing Boracay is a bucket list destination that many people crave. Having seen the epic photos of White Beach and the amazing sunsets I had to go. Also a friend owns Epic, the bar/restuarant/club on the beach right at the end of D’mall and my visit coincided with Zookout so I went to check things out.

Getting to Boracay with lots of kitesurfing equipment is a bit of a challenge in itself as Caticlan airport just across the water is a small airport and has very strict baggage weight policies so Kalibo is the nearest useful airport. From there it is an hour or so in a fairly cheap taxi before getting a ferry and thenĀ  tricycle / tuk tuk to your end destination.

Boracay is extremely over developed in the mid section of the island and subsequently pollution is a problem. Kitesurfing on Bulabog beach you can see the sewage pipes that do not go too far out to sea and often at low tide there is a nasty smell there.
